Garden Tour - May 13, 2013

I have the herb garden in the front,
but I thought why not do more in some pots.
Cilantro, basil, thyme, oregano...and something, but I forgot what...

The cilantro has sprouted.  The rest...just a smidge...

I swear the peas grow a foot every time it rains.

I have a forest of mint.

String beans!

Yellow squash is growing, the green ones are just flowering.

The cantaloupes are doing nicely.

How cute are these cucumbers?!

Eighteen tomato plants.  Let's hope they survive amidst the weird weather.
What kinds you ask...um, let's see...
Prudens Purple, Box Car Willie, Big Red, Big Rainbow,
Black Krim, Roma, Abe Lincoln, Beefsteak, Cherry,
Matt's Wild Cherry and Rose de Berne.
We bought new, bigger cages this year.
Last year, the small ones all toppled over.

Most of them have flowers.

The Peanut has her own boxes.  Strawberries...transplanted from
the box on the side of the house.

She already has a few strawberries growing.

Her sugar snap peas are doing great.

And the strawberry popcorn...yes I know they're planted too close together.
Whatever, let's see how it goes.

I am so excited about the artichokes.

This was a raspberry bush.  Now it's a tree.
How many pounds of raspberries do I harvest every year?
None.  The birds eat them all.

They also eat all the blueberries.

We picked up two rain barrels on freecycle.
The Hubby set up one.  The other will be set up soon.

The peas on the left are from seeds I saved from last year.
The peas on the right are from old, old, expired ones.
Obviously, the age of the seeds matter.

I can't wait for consistently warm weather.
And bees.  Where are the bees?
Maybe I did start my seeds too early...
Time will tell, wish me luck.

  1. Looking good so far :-)

Love to see you're still doing all these things! I should have the opportunity to do some of the things I've wanted to this year, I have a bit more help.
